Traditional real estate brokers are valued for their local market knowledge, access to listings, relationships with other agents, and “driving the process”. But when searching for our SF home, we knew what we were looking for, and in which neighborhoods – and the vast majority of listings are published. We didn’t need anyone to “drive the process”, and certainly weren’t wanting to pay a broker fee based on the value of our new home (vs. the broker work performed).
